Coast LC Spotlight

Our 2030s kicked off December with a Tournament Championship at Legends National Cup.

The team was undefeated on the weekend, never trailing despite a small roster size.

The team had contributions all over the field… dominant on the draw and on ground balls in most games.

A dominating weekend performance was capped by a 10-2 win over Mad Dog San Diego.

GREAT job, 2030’s!

Stick work of the Week

Like we always say… Ask ANY great player how they got to where they are, and we can almost guarantee they will tell you to hit the wall. In order to have confidence in games, you need to put in the work when nobody is watching!

This week’s stickwork is a little different. Time yourself completing this circuit:

  1. 25 Right Hand One Cradle & Out

  2. 25 Left Hand One Cradle & Out

  3. 25 Offside Left - Right Hand

  4. 25 Offside Left - Left Hand

  5. 25 Quick Stick Right

  6. 25 Quick Stick Left

  7. 15 Right (1) Hand Catch & Cradle

  8. 15 Left (1) Hand Catch & Cradle

  9. 15 Split Dodges (Throw right, catch right, split, throw left, catch left, split - Counts as 1)

  10. 15 Switching Hands Quick Sticks (Throw across body, switch hands while ball is in air after each throw, throw right catch left, throw left catch right - Counts as 1)

  • No closer than 5 yds from the wall

  • Can do on your own or with a partner

  • If you drop it, can pick up a new ball / partner can toss in new ball

  • Record your time honestly

Recruiting tip of the Week

The classroom is just as important as the field.

As the year comes to an end, it can be a great time to reflect on the progress you’ve made as a player in the past 12 months, and create new goals and habits for 2023.

While it is very important to do that with lacrosse in mind, you should do the same for school.

Good grades are very important in the recruiting process. School can be difficult, stressful, and overwhelming.

So, taking some down time during the holidays to think about how you’d like to attack the next 6 months of school before summer could be a very beneficial use of your time.

Your future self will thank you!

Quote of the Week

You are never really playing an opponent. You are playing yourself, your own highest standards, and when you reach your limits, that is real joy.
